Happy Thursday! I’ve spent the majority of today thinking it was Wednesday, so this post is going up a little later than I’d hoped. Time isn’t real anymore, am I right? I mean, we are still in the middle of a global pandemic, so it’s justified. Which reminds me, here’s your periodic reminder to wear … Continue reading Review: CHILDREN OF BLOOD AND BONE

Review: IN THE SHADOW OF VESUVIUS: Lady Emily #14
Happy Sunday! I hope everyone celebrating had a great 4th yesterday! Personally, I never do much for the holiday. My family does a cookout and I’ll watch the fireworks show my city puts on, but that’s about it. I just enjoy having a day to relax, which is exactly what I tried to do. I … Continue reading Review: IN THE SHADOW OF VESUVIUS: Lady Emily #14
Catching Up: July TBR!
Alternatively titled: Will I Ever Catch Up On My Reading Goals? No! Happy Wednesday! I’m back after an accidental two-week hiatus! I was doing so well sticking to my June schedule, but alas, time management is tough when you’re finishing a Master’s and planning a wedding in the middle of a pandemic. Nevertheless, we’re back … Continue reading Catching Up: July TBR!
Review: UPON THE MIDNIGHT CLEAR: A Lady Emily Christmas Story (Lady Emily #13.5)
Happy Monday! I’m a day late with this post because time isn’t real and I never know what day it is anymore! It’s hard to believe it’s only June 15 honestly, but at the same time I can’t believe it’s already June 15. Time is truly meaningless ever since the lockdowns started. This week, we’re … Continue reading Review: UPON THE MIDNIGHT CLEAR: A Lady Emily Christmas Story (Lady Emily #13.5)
Review: THE SONG OF ACHILLES
We experience Patroclus' entire life with him, every high and every low, and we feel for him. The ending made me cry because it was such a powerful culmination of all those things—all those hopes and dreams and wants and fears, all brought together at the end of his life.
Review: UNEASY LIES THE CROWN (Lady Emily #13)
Today I’m continuing my Lady Emily review series with the thirteenth book in the series, UNEASY LIES THE CROWN.
June TBR: How We Can Elevate Black Voices Through Literature
I’ve spent much of the past few days reevaluating my role in all this as a white woman and how I can better, more effectively use the power my privilege has granted me to help this community in mourning. Part of that has been evaluating the books that I read, and coming to the realization that my TBRs are often incredibly white. I’m committing myself to be conscious of this from here on out, and to diversify my reading as frequently as I can.
Review: AMID THE WINTER’S SNOW (Lady Emily #12.5)
Happy Sunday friends! It’s the last day of May, and I frankly cannot believe how fast this month went by. I was sure we would have another insanely long month like January and March were, but thankfully May passed at a reasonable pace. I’m so looking forward to summer, and consistently warm weather; I won’t … Continue reading Review: AMID THE WINTER’S SNOW (Lady Emily #12.5)
Review: DEATH IN ST. PETERSBURG (Lady Emily #12)
Happy Friday friends! Today I’m reviewing the twelfth book in Tasha Alexander’s Lady Emily series, DEATH IN ST. PETERSBURG. We’re so close to finishing this review series, I almost can’t believe it! As long as I stick to my schedule (which is easier said than done, lol) we’ll be done around the middle of June. … Continue reading Review: DEATH IN ST. PETERSBURG (Lady Emily #12)
Review: REBECCA
Happy Tuesday! Today I’m taking a little break from my Lady Emily review series to talk about another book I read recently: REBECCA by Daphne du Maurier. This is a classic novel, but shockingly, I’d never heard of it before. My soon-to-be sister-in-law turned me on to it, as she does with most of the … Continue reading Review: REBECCA
